BACK-TO-SCHOOL TIME

I still feel excited at the beginning of each school year, even after 30 years in education. It feels like a fresh start every year. At back-to-school time I feel the same passion that I felt when I started my career. It’s exciting to meet our new students and their families! I especially love to see our new preschoolers enter the building for back-to-school conferences. Their eyes are bright, their backpacks are new and usually too big, but they wear them proudly. They are eager to start school. The parents/guardians are eager too, but also cautious. They are entrusting us with their small child for many hours a day. As educators, we take the trust that families place in us very seriously.

Back-to-school time is also a time to reconnect with colleagues, meet new staff, and build positive relationships with one another. At the beginning of the year, we feel fresh and eager to get started with students. No one says it August, but we know these co-workers will help us through the more challenging days of the school year.

As educators, we enter each new year with hopes and dreams for our students and our classes. We appreciate parents kind and encouraging words to us. We hope that you continue to provide that same kind of encouragement to your child throughout the whole year!

As we begin a new year, let’s all begin with optimism and a commitment to collaborate to help each child in our care to learn and grow to the best of their abilities!
